Jlabel

Jlabel loves fashion but loves our planet even more. And fashion should not be at the expense of our planet. They produce their clothing in two factories. One in India that is both GOTS and SA8000 certified, and one in Turkey which is GOTS certified, and also audited by Fair Wear and BSCI.

Jlabel factories are carefully selected by experts to produce each garment ethically and fairly. The factories pay a fair price to the workers and the factory in India works on women empowerment.

Our work

Campaign - We are connected

The campaign features a documentary directed by Barbara de Baare, a video series produced by MUMSTER, and a series of articles, a cover shoot, and an eight-page editorial by our media partner, Marie Claire.

In the documentary, we follow the lives of Sunita and Millie, two women from India and Romania who craft clothing for the Jlabel collections. They share what their work means to them, with the film emphasizing themes of womanhood and equality. While many women take for granted opportunities in the labor market and the freedom to dress as they choose, these privileges are not universal. The documentary highlights the dedication with which Sunita and Millie approach their work, bridging the connection between the makers of the clothing and those who wear it.

The impact

Campaign Results

The campaign reached over a million women through our media partner Marie Claire and the support of our ambassadors. However, the true impact lies in the inspiration sparked by seeing the women behind the clothing. Ambassador Tess Milne, for example, was deeply moved and inspired after watching the documentary and seeing the woman who made her dress.

We never know who makes our clothes. I had a feeling it was being printed, it’s so far away from you. Now I see that dress I’m wearing in the movie, it’s very special. I am not aware of the life behind a piece of clothing at all. I really love seeing the joy and independence that comes from making that garment.
