Do you want to discover new ways to manipulate and recycle textiles? Join this masterclass by Margherita Soldati and learn how to create repetitive and organic patterns and structures from textile waste.
During this masterclass you will discover how to recycle and manipulate textiles by playfully experimenting with technology and materials. You compile your own library of 3D textile samples by trying out different techniques. The masterclass is given by the Italian maker Margherita Soldati and the language of instruction is English.
During the masterclass you will work with the following techniques:
- Smocking and traditional techniques
- Using a heat gun and metal tools to create patterns in textile waste
- Make your own bioplastic and use textile as a mold for casting and creating new 3D shapes from this plastic
- Other ways to create textures in textiles
