Show Solidarity with powerful ‘I HAVE A DREAM’ t-shirt

By Martina Novà Kovà

An ethical brand THE DO NATION, the sustainable fashion movement MUMSTER, and a rising artist Michelle Amo, joined forces to create a powerful fashion statement in the form of a simple t-shirt, donating a portion of sale proceeds to leading foundations fighting racism and racial discrimination. This t-shirt is part of the second issue of the Show Solidarity campaign powered by Chanel Trapman, the founder of MUMSTER, celebrating the full spectrum of color behind the fashion labels.

Show solidarity in a tangible way
The Show Solidarity campaign reached new heights when Chanel and THE DO NATION came up with an idea to create a powerful t-shirt design that shows solidarity in a tangible way.

Donating to a good cause with each purchase, all THE DO NATION designs support life-changing charities that are fighting for a better world every day. In this case, the ‘I HAVE A DREAM’ t-shirt exclusively supports prescreened and trustworthy foundations fighting racism, including the original Black Lives Matter fund and charities supporting children’s education in Africa.

Michelle Amo: “This t-shirt is a seed for this generation to remember that we still got work to do for the dream that Martin Luther King Jr. envisioned.”

The meaning behind ‘I HAVE A DREAM’ t-shirt
For this specific design, THE DO NATION and MUMSTER collaborated with an up-and-coming artist Michelle Amo, giving her the creative space to express her raw feelings and personal experience through the power of illustration. Michelle herself explains the meaning behind her art: “This t-shirt is a seed for this generation to remember that we still got work to do for the dream that Martin Luther King Jr. envisioned.”

Learning from her own experience, Chanel Trapman also honestly shares why she felt compelled to do something herself: “I was also guilty of organizing a photo shoot with people of color without giving them an actual voice. Now, I realize that is the worst thing you can do and doesn’t help anyone. I feel grateful that now with the Show Solidarity campaign ‘We have a dream’, we can actually give talented people of color a voice and contribute to positive change by donating part of the profit of the ‘I have a dream’ t-shirt to the charities that make a difference.”

You can now pre-order the ‘I HAVE A DREAM’ t-shirt on THE DO NATION website and choose what particular foundation your order is going to finance. Through a simple purchase, show solidarity with one powerful t-shirt and support the ‘I HAVE A DREAM’ vision for this world to truly embrace the full spectrum of color today.
