Fashion + Design Festival Arnhem 2021 - Dimensions tour - MUMSTER REPORT

The Fashion + Design Festival Arnhem (FDFA) is the annual festival where fashion, design, art and culture merge. During the FDFA’21, artists, designers, cultural institutions and visitors go in search of meaning and happiness under the theme PURPOSE, on the basis of ten dimensions.

We were invited to discover the DIMENSIONS walking route through the Fashion Quarter of Arnhem. During the entire FDFA period, the photo exhibition DIMENSIONS can be admired in the Modekwartier with photos by Wendelien Daan. In collaboration with stylist Mary-Lou Berkulin, Wendelien shot the campaign images based on the PURPOSE theme. The photos are based on 10 dimensions: consumption, equality, ratio, emotion, aesthetics, power, empathy, transience, raw material and thoughts.

The photos show garments by designers who have a special link with Arnhem, including Saskia van Drimmelen, Schepers Bosman and Collection Arnhem of the ArtEZ Fashion Design students.

With a special walking route you walk past all the photos presented in the shop window of several stores. Pick up the route map at one of the participating stores or download the map here.

We went on a journey of discovery and visited Frou Frou’s, designer and stylist Annet Veerbeek and designer and social creator Mirte Engelhard. Watch the report for the conversations and find out  how they try to work with a PURPOSE and all approach the different dimensions of consumption, transience and empathy with their vision in their own way.

On Friday 25 June, State of Fashion is organizing five workshops, including a workshop with Mirte Engelhard. Click here to view the events and register for free!
